About me

SDL_badges_Postediting_Cert_280X116My name is Laura and I’m a qualified NAATI Italian professional translator. I have been working in the translation industry since 2006.
My academic background (BA/MA) comprises studies in foreign languages, translation, law, economics and finance.

I was born and raised in Italy, but I have always liked travelling and learning other languages. I have attended language courses in Germany, England, Spain and Portugal and I have lived and worked in Switzerland, Germany, UK and Portugal. I’m now based in sunny Australia and I work as a full-time freelance translator.

TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE

Since 2006 I have been working as a freelance translator, providing translation services to agencies and direct clients from Europe, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and several other countries.

In 2011-2014 I have worked as a full-time in-house translator and reviser for a financial institution in Switzerland. My main task was to revise and translate texts related to finance, banking, law and marketing from German into Italian. I have therefore a strong knowledge and understanding of finance and banking.

In 2008 I have worked as an in-house translator for an Italian translation agency, where I translated mainly legal texts from English and German into Italian. I have also volunteered as an Italian translator for several non-governmental organizations.

I take pride in my profession and I constantly commit myself to professional development.

My main specialization areas are marketing, tourism, finance, banking, economics, business, insurance, law, health and non-governmental organizations. I also translate texts related to education and media.
